About Us

Sergeant First Class (SFC) Rose has been in the Army since 2002. She was a Military Working Dog Handler for 6 years and adopted her last MWD. She is currently serving as a Military Police Officer and provides GYS with military advice and insight into Veteran's needs.

Laurel feels incredibly fortunate to do what she loves which is working with dogs and their people.  With her daughter being in the Military she has a special place in her heart for veterans so she started Huntsville Got Your Six because of the need seen over the last several years for service dogs for veterans with PTSD.  Huntsville Got Your Six provides that help through no cost training for veterans and their dogs.

Laurel has been working with dogs and their owners since 2001 and has professional certification, Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. She is also a Certified Mentor Trainer to Animal Behavior College students. Her interest in training began as a puppy raiser and volunteer coordinator for Canine Companions for Independence.  Laurel has published training articles on examiner.com, conducted seminars for local rescues/shelters and has been the "Ask the Expert" on WAAY TV.

Ms. Bruno brings 20 years of non-profit experience including fundraising, donor relations and endowments of over $2m annually.  She was raised in a military family and worked for veterans returning from Viet Nam with the effects of Agent Orange.
